The Backstory

Dave was a teacher and a department head at a high school in the Houston Independent School District. He found little practical value in attending faculty meetings where consultants give presentations on topics like classroom management strategies.

Then, he had a phenomenal experience where he co-taught with an outstanding English teacher. Watching the teacher, Dave realized that he could learn much more through observation than through attending faculty meetings.

Being able to watch her teach and then ask, “why did you group those kids?” And, “why did you ask the question that way?”

Dave asked all sorts of targeted and situation-specific questions that lead to breakthroughs in his thinking that made immediate improvements to his teaching methods.

Dave looked for a technology solution that would enable teachers and their mentors all the benefits of co-teaching without either teacher leaving their classrooms.

But he found nothing.
